Discover the Trails that Connect to the Spokane River Centennial Trail

The Spokane River Centennial Trail is more than 40 miles of recreation, connection, and adventure. It also serves as the backbone of a growing regional trail network. Several other trails link directly to, or are planned to connect with, the Centennial Trail, creating even more opportunities for walking, running, and cycling across Spokane and beyond.

Appleway Trail

The Appleway Trail runs through Spokane Valley and is being developed as a key east–west corridor. Plans are underway to connect it directly to the Centennial Trail, giving residents and visitors new options for commuting and recreation while strengthening Spokane Valley’s trail system.

Children of the Sun Trail

The Children of the Sun Trail follows the North Spokane Corridor. Once complete, it will link to the Centennial Trail at the Greene Street Trailhead, creating a north–south connection that allows cyclists and pedestrians to easily reach the river and downtown Spokane.

Ben Burr Trail

This historic trail runs from Liberty Park into the South Hill neighborhoods, offering a short but important urban greenway. The Ben Burr Trail ties into the Centennial Trail near downtown, providing a convenient link for South Hill residents who want direct access to the river.

South Gorge Trail

Opened in 2024, the South Gorge Trail completes a loop around the Spokane River gorge in downtown Spokane. It links seamlessly to the Centennial Trail, adding stunning views, new access points, and a 5K loop that combines the river, Peaceful Valley, Kendall Yards, and Riverfront Park.

Fish Lake Trail

The Fish Lake Trail stretches southwest from Spokane toward Cheney. Efforts are underway to complete the “Fish Lake Connection,” which will link this 7-mile paved trail directly to the Centennial Trail, creating one of the region’s most scenic long-distance rides.

North Idaho Centennial Trail

The North Idaho Centennial Trail extends from the Washington–Idaho border east through Post Falls and into Coeur d’Alene, where it hugs the lake. Together with the Spokane River Centennial Trail, it forms a 63-mile continuous path that crosses two states and showcases the best of the Inland Northwest.
