Unveil the Trail

Every April, in celebration of Earth Day, we invite the community to join Unveil the Trail—our annual cleanup of the Spokane River Centennial Trail. Adopt-a-Mile Partners, local organizations, and neighbors from across the region come together to give the trail a fresh start for spring. Volunteers work side by side to pick up litter, pull weeds, and sweep away debris, ensuring the trail is safe, beautiful, and ready to welcome millions of visitors.

Why It Matters

This event not only helps prepare the trail for its 2.5 million annual users, but also strengthens the connection between people and the natural spaces they care for. Together, we’re building a tradition of environmental care and community pride.

As a volunteer, you’ll help:

  • Remove litter and debris along trail sections
  • Pull weeds and clear vegetation from pathways
  • Sweep and tidy up trailheads and access points
  • Celebrate the shared achievement of a clean, welcoming Centennial Trail

Volunteer to give the trail a clean sweep! Contact the State Parks Volunteer Coordinator to get involved.
